With the release of a new season earlier this year, the world (that is, me) is once again having Bridgerton fever. It seems all the Regencycore hype has come for the red carpet, because Emma Stone was seen at the Oscars 2026 in a white empire-waist gown that could easily pass for a Bridgerton wedding dress. And I’m obsessed.

For her appearance at the 2026 Academy Awards, Emma Stone opted for a silver gown by Louis Vuitton that’s both minimalist and incredibly romantic. The shimmering dress featured an elegant, flowing silhouette with a scooped neckline, delicate micro sleeves, and an extremely low back neckline that gave the look a surprisingly modern touch.

Also impressive: the intricate bead embroidery. A total of 600 hours of handwork went into the detailed embroidery.

The styling also remained deliberately understated and emphasized the almost bridal vibe of the look: Emma Stone wore small diamond earrings, which she paired with slightly shimmering eye shadow and a short bob parted to the side in soft waves. For her lipstick, she went with the “ballet slipper lips” trend that was all over the 2026 Oscars red carpet.

If you immediately think of the Netflix series Bridgerton when you see this dress, you’re not alone. The popular series is responsible for the Regencycore fashion trend that’s been omnipresent in recent years. Dresses with empire silhouettes—that is, a high waist directly under the bust and a softly falling skirt that creates a romantic, almost fairytale-like drape—have become especially popular in the bridal market as a result.

So if you’re someone whose Pinterest looks like a mood board for the next Bridgerton season, you might want to consider Emma Stone’s Oscars dress for inspo.

While the Netflix series usually relies on pastel colors, detailed embroidery, and opulent fabrics, Emma Stone’s version looks much more modern. Instead of lace and ruffles, it features shimmering fabric and clean lines—the 2026 red carpet version of a Regency dress.
