Donald Trump left red-faced as he’s forced to pace stage for 20-minutes in silence after rally blunder
Donald Trump was left red-faced after he was forced to wander round the stage for 20-minutes following a blunder at a rally.
The 45th President was in Michigan, one of the US’s largest swing states, when his speech was plagued with technical difficulties.
Whilst speaking to the audience about what the “most beautiful word in the dictionary” is, to which he was about to say “tariffs”, his microphone suddenly cut out.
The audio failure lasted for 17 minutes, with the former President pacing around on stage as he waited for the technical issues to be fixed.
He grew visibly agitated as the minutes increased, and unlike his appearance in Pennsylvania on Tuesday, there was no music from his personally-curated Spotify playlist that could have filled the silence.
However, the venue was still abuzz thanks to the chants of his supporters.
“USA, USA, USA” and “we love Trump” echoed throughout the room, whilst the 45th President stood silently on stage.
Meanwhile, giant video screens flashed: “Technical Difficulties Complicated Business.”

After a long wait, the issue was eventually fixed and Trump quipped: “I won’t pay the bill for this stupid company that rented us this crap.
“I won’t pay the bill. And then we’ll have a story that Trump didn’t pay the bill to a contractor. No. When they do that kind of a job, don’t pay the bill.”
The rally continued for another hour with just Trump onstage, with the 78-year-old claiming that US Senate candidate Mike Rogers did not want to join him due to the “crappy microphone”.
“I want to keep him good and healthy,” the former president added.
“I want him to have his voice tomorrow. When I get up tomorrow and I can’t speak, I’m going to say, ‘Detroit did it to me.’”
Earlier in the week, a clip of Trump looking “lost and confused” on stage whilst at a rally in Pennsylvania.
Kamala Harris expressed her concerns, stating that she “hopes he’s okay”.
“Trump appears lost, confused, and frozen on stage as multiple songs play for 30+ minutes and the crowd pours out of the venue early,” said Kamala HQ in a tweet, sharing the clip broadcasted by US network, RSBN.
During the rally, two people suffered from medical issues and were seen to by paramedics. Instead of continuing with his speech, Trump instructed staff to play music from a playlist to the crowds.
