Nearly one month after the release of 50 Cent’s Netflix documentary about their father, the Combs brothers are premiering one of their own.
Christian and Justin Combs have teamed up with The Zeus Network to speak up and tell their story in a brand-new docu-series. On Sunday (Dec. 28), the video-on-demand streaming platform released a teaser on social media for their untitled project. In the one-minute clip, Christian, 27, and Justin, 31, are seen watching footage from their father’s trial as media headlines flash and various soundbites echo in between frames.
The docu-series’ synopsis reads as follows: “This marks the first time Justin and Christian Combs speak publicly and at length in an intimate, up-close, and exclusive documentary series, offering personal insight into their lives, experiences, and the realities they have navigated.
“To be clear, this documentary is about giving Justin and Christian the opportunity to share their personal story,” Zeus Network CEO Lemuel Plummer wrote in a statement. “We’re not here to endorse Diddy or anyone else. As a network, we believe in giving individuals a platform to tell their own experiences, just like any network that enters the documentary space. We’re simply allowing these stories to be told, and that’s the essence of what we’re doing here. Thanks for understanding and for letting us bring these narratives to light.”
Although the Combs brothers’ project has no official title, the film is expected to premiere in 2026. It’s unclear if the documentary will cover their support of their father during his 8-week criminal trial for sex trafficking and racketeering or the events leading up to his custody.
50 Cent caught wind of the teaser and took to social media to share his thoughts. “Wow,” he wrote, with eyes emojis under an Instagram post. “I want to see this show. I’m not sure this was a good idea.”
Since the release of his highly anticipated Netflix documentary, Sean Combs: The Reckoning, has garnered 21.8 million views in its first six days. It also became the most-watched Netflix series during its debut week. A representative for Combs released a statement about the film, calling it a “shameful hit piece.”
“Netflix relied on stolen footage that was never authorized for release. As Netflix and its CEO Ted Sarandos well know, Mr. Combs has been amassing footage for decades, since he was 19 years old, to tell his own story, in his own way. It is fundamentally unfair, not to mention illegal, for Netflix to misappropriate that work,” the statement read.
“It is also shocking that Netflix gave creative control of this production to Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson — a longtime public adversary who has a personal vendetta against Mr. Combs and has made a career of slandering and defaming him. … For Netflix to hand his story to someone who has publicly attacked him for decades feels, to Mr. Combs, like an unnecessary and deeply personal affront.”
The film’s director, Alex Stapleton, has since denied the claims, saying, “It came to us, we obtained the footage legally, and have the necessary rights. We moved heaven and earth to keep the filmmaker’s identity confidential. One thing about Sean Combs is that he’s always filming himself, and it’s been an obsession throughout the decades. We also reached out to Sean Combs’ legal team for an interview and comment multiple times, but did not hear back.”
