Bajel Projects wins ₹600 crore+ order for 765kV transmission lines in Chhattisgarh

Engineering firm Bajel Projects Ltd on Wednesday (August 12) said it has secured an ultra-mega transmission line order worth more than ₹600 crore under the WR-ER Inter-Regional Network Expansion Scheme – Part A.

The transmission line package, identified as TL05, covers the construction of 765kV double-circuit transmission lines connecting Raigarh (Tamnar), Raigarh (Kotra) and Dharamjaygarh in Chhattisgarh.

The project will reinforce inter-regional power evacuation capacity between the Western and Eastern regions of the national grid.

The latest order adds to Bajel Projects’ order book in high-voltage transmission infrastructure and strengthens its position as an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) partner for strategic grid-strengthening projects across India.

Under Bajel Projects’ order classification policy, including goods and services tax (GST), projects worth ₹400 crore and above fall under the ultra-mega order category.

This week, the company said it has won orders worth over ₹700 crore from Power Grid. The company said it won an “ultra-mega” order worth ₹400 crore and a “mega order” worth over ₹300 crore under the WR-ER inter-regional network expansion scheme.

Bajel Projects classifies orders in the ₹300 crore to ₹400 crore range as “mega” and orders of ₹400 crore and above as “ultra-mega” orders.

According to Bajel Projects, the “ultra-mega” order TLO6-LILO of Ranchi includes design, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of new 400kV double-circuit transmission lines connecting Jamshedpur (New) with Ranchi (New) and New PPSP.

The other order – TL02- Raigarh (Tamnar) includes the construction of a new 765kV double-circuit transmission line from Raigarh (Tamnar) to Jamshedpur (New), Part 11.

Together, the two packages will reinforce inter-regional power evacuation capacity between the Western and Eastern Regions, strengthening grid connectivity across Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand and supporting the broader WR-ER corridor, the company said.

“These packages are critical to strengthening power flow between the Western and Eastern regions, and together they mark one of our largest transmission line wins to date,” Rajesh Ganesh, the managing director and CEO of Bajel Projects, said.

Shares of Bajel Projects Ltd ended at ₹193.10, up by 4.80, or ₹2.55%, on the BSE.
