Apple plans to introduce its first touchscreen MacBook and a new iPad mini in late October, Bloomberg reported Thursday, citing people familiar with the plans.

The launch is scheduled on or around October 27. Apple is also expected to unveil versions of the 14 inch MacBook Pro and iMac equipped with M6 chips.

The event will include an online video presentation and an in person component for the press. It will focus on creative professionals working in video production, photo editing and music production, according to the report.

The touchscreen MacBook Pro models will be lighter than current versions and feature OLED displays. They will also incorporate Dynamic Island, the interface familiar to iPhone users.

Rumors about the redesign gained detail earlier this year. In February, Bloomberg reported that Apple was preparing touchscreen MacBook Pro models for late 2026, with Dynamic Island and an interface designed to adapt between touch and cursor input.

The new iPad mini will also feature an OLED display, along with a camera positioned on the landscape side and a revamped speaker system. The M6 versions of the MacBook Pro and iMac will retain their existing designs.

The planned launch follows a separate smart home event scheduled for October 13. Apple is expected to introduce its first home hub with a display, a new HomePod mini and an updated Apple TV, with its Siri AI assistant central to the lineup.
