Abbott India Q1 net profit surges 17% despite 4% revenue growth

Drug firm Abbott India Ltd on Wednesday (August 12) reported a 17.12% year-on-year rise in consolidated net profit to ₹429 crore for the first quarter of FY27, compared with ₹366 crore in the year-ago quarter.

Consolidated revenue grew 4.3% year-on-year to ₹1,813.6 crore, from ₹1,738.4 crore.

Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) increased 17.3% to ₹522.4 crore, compared with ₹445.5 crore in Q1 FY26. The EBITDA margin expanded to 28.81% from 25.63%.

Sudarshan Jain Appointed Chairman

Abbott India said Munir Shaikh, non-executive director, has stepped down as Chairman of the Board of Directors with effect from the close of business hours on August 12, 2026.

Following the recommendation of the Nomination and Remuneration Committee and in accordance with the company’s Articles of Association, Sudarshan Jain, an independent director, has been appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors with effect from August 13, 2026.
