The lineup is 20 years old today!

The Xbox 360 is 20 years old today, and we have some fantastic memories of Microsoft’s sophomore system from way back in 2005. The console was incredible (RROD aside), the controller was an amazing evolution of the OG Xbox effort – and all-in-all, we we very happy with the experience back in the way. However, we want to focus on the games here; so which was your favourite Xbox 360 launch title from back in the day?
Honestly, it was a pretty darn solid lineup, especially for a console that arrived a full year before its main competitors in the PS3 and Nintendo Wii. We had Call of Duty 2 ushering in a new era for console shooters, we had the criminally underrated Condemned: Criminal Origins coming from Monolith and SEGA – whilst Microsoft themselves delivered the likes of Kameo, Perfect Dark Zero and Project Gotham Racing 3 on day one.
From a personal perspective, it’s probably no surprise that PGR3 takes my pick – but opinions in the office vary! We’ve got some big Tony Hawk’s American Wasteland fans here, whilst Ubisoft’s King Kong game is also worth an underappreciated shoutout. EA Sports contributed heavily to the lineup as well, with multiple titles making Microsoft’s November 22nd launch day.
So, which is your favourite Xbox 360 launch game? We’re focusing on the North American lineup here, so one or two titles may surprise you if you’re from another part of the world! The bulk of the lineup was shared though, and it all arrived on that hallowed November 22nd, 2005 release day.
Vote in the poll up above and tell us your lasting memories from these games down below!
