The Netherlands Online Gambling Association (NOGA) has revealed plans to merge with the Licensed Dutch Online Gambling Providers (VNLOK).
Under the agreement, both organizations will begin drafting formal terms for the merger in the coming weeks. Once completed, all of NOGA’s currently licensed online gambling operators will transition to become members of VNLOK. According to both parties, the merger aims to strengthen industry oversight and improve player protection within the Dutch gambling market.
Sanna van Doorm, NOGA Vice Chairman, mentioned:
The Board of NOGA is pleased that, after a long period of cooperation, we are now entering the next phase as a trade association together with VNLOK. We are convinced that this will create a broad and solid trade association that will continue to make a relevant contribution to a structurally healthy and safe online gambling market in the Netherlands.
This development follows the resignation of Eric Konings as Acting Director of NOGA in January, marking the end of his seven-year tenure with the organization. Earlier, in Q4 2024, NOGA and VNLOK had also collaborated to launch a joint hotline aimed at tackling illegal online gambling in the Netherlands.
Björn Fuchs, VNLOK Chairman, mentioned:
On behalf of the VNLOK board, I’d like to thank the NOGA board for their constructive dialogue and commitment, which have paved the way for this next step together.
A necessary and logical step, which gives the online gambling industry one clear, united voice towards all relevant stakeholders. We look forward to welcoming the NOGA members to VNLOK soon.
