Tesla owners urged to download major software update as soon as possible – ‘Will keep improving!’
Tesla owners are now able to get their hands on a major new software update which could improve their driving experience, especially over the festive period.
Hundreds of thousands of drivers across the UK will be able to make use of the new features, which include Christmas-related content to make journeys more enjoyable.
The release notes outline how motorists can now make use of the new features, although some options will depend on the vehicle model and the location.
The 2024 Holiday Update will allow users to save dashcam and sentry mode clips to their phone, allowing them to edit or share, especially in the event of an accident.

Motorists can now also set their arrival energy, allowing them to input a preferred battery charge level for when they arrive at their destination.
This will be particularly handy for motorists embarking on longer journeys. Motorists can choose what percentage of their battery they want to arrive at a destination.
With this option selected, the feature will adjust where along the journey they will stop to charge and how long the journey will take, depending on the risk they want to take.
To accompany the new arrival energy feature, drivers will be notified on the touchscreen of any stalls that are currently out of service when navigating to a Supercharger.
According to the latest data from Zapmap, Tesla has 1,744 Supercharger devices across the UK, making it the second-biggest rapid or ultra-rapid network provider and the 11th-largest overall network.
Globally, there are more than 60,000 Superchargers, with drivers able to recharge up to 172 miles in just 15 minutes.
When driving, owners will see that search results for locations are filtered to show options along the route, as well as estimated detour times.
Apple Watch owners will now be able to use the device as a phone key for their vehicle, as well as view battery charge, open the frunk and remotely turn on climate control.
Motorists who have the stalkless version of the Tesla Model 3 can now automatically shift between drive and reverse to handle car parking manoeuvres and multi-point turns.
The update will also alert drivers of any pedestrians or vehicles crossing behind them when in reverse, with an audible warning playing if an obstruction is detected.
Other new features of the 2024 Holiday Update include two new light shows, new games to play on the central console, “Santa Mode” for the Cybertruck and a “fart on contact” prank option.
Posting on social media site X, formerly known as Twitter, the official Tesla account wrote: “Your Tesla will keep improving long after you’ve bought it For free, for years.”

So far this year, Tesla has sold more than 41,600 vehicles across the UK, representing 2.3 per cent of the total market share, according to data from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT).
While this is a drop of around 2,500 vehicles compared to the same time last year, Tesla remains the most successful electric-only manufacturer in the UK.
