Madonna, 66, splits from boyfriend, 28, as insiders share real reason for break-up: ‘Same issue’
Madonna, 66, has reportedly split from her 28-year-old boyfriend, Akeem Morris.
The iconic Crazy For You hit-maker was only recently appearing very loved up with Morris, with her social media awash with snaps of the couple celebrating July 4th festivities.
The pair were snuggled up in several of the photos, but it seems their romance came to an abrupt end around Halloween.
A source close to the singer had said Madonna split from Morris in late-October.
“Madonna ran into the same issue with this boytoy as she has with all of her recent men,” they alleged.
The source continued: “The age difference became an issue. They come from different time periods. Madonna felt Akeem had a wandering eye because he did.”
Speaking to the Daily Mail, they added: “When the globe-trotting stopped, the excitement stopped as well.”
However, the insider went on to speculate the breakup didn’t seem to be a “dramatic” one.
The Like a Prayer singer was first linked with Morris in 2022 but didn’t appear to be together until this summer.
Jamaica-born Morris once played for premier soccer league Oyster Bay United FC, Elle Magazine reports.
The split seems to have been very recent, with the former couple snapped together sporting matching costumes as they celebrated Halloween just weeks ago.
Morris is among the latest of Madonna’s younger beaus, with the 1980s star having dated 30-year-old boxing coach Joshua Popper in 2023.
The pair split this May after meeting during a boxing lesson in New York. Prior to this, she was in a three-year relationship with dancer Ahlamalik Williams, 30, People reports.
Away from her relationship woes, Madonna has spoken candidly in the last year about the frightening health issue she’d experienced after being placed in an induced coma in June 2023.
The singer was rushed to hospital after being found unresponsive as the result of what was determined to be a serious bacterial infection.
She was taken to the ICU and later revealed that she was put into a medically induced coma as she battled for her life after suffering lung and kidney failure.

During a concert earlier this year, she shared how the ordeal had been “pretty scary”.
“[In] summer I had a surprise. It’s called… um… a near-death experience. Yes, and I’m not kidding. It was pretty scary,” she admitted.
She continued as she addressed her fans: “Obviously, I didn’t know for four days, because I was in an induced coma. But when I woke up, the first word I said was ‘No.’ Anyway, that’s what my assistant tells me.
“And I’m pretty sure that God was saying to me, ‘Do you wanna come with us? You wanna come with me? You wanna go this way?’ And I said, ‘no, no.'”
