Prince William makes gesture to Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis in South Africa
Prince William began his four-day royal visit to South Africa yesterday, sporting a touching reminder of home on his wrist.
The Prince of Wales was seen wearing a home-made friendship bracelet with the word ‘Papa’ – the name his children call him – as he met with young environmentalists in Cape Town.
The bracelet, likely crafted by his daughter Princess Charlotte, was visible beneath his £99 eco-friendly vegan shirt and jacket.
William’s visit centres around the annual Earthshot Prize Awards, an initiative he devised to highlight positive solutions to environmental challenges.
During an off-the-cuff speech at the Rooftop on Bree, William addressed 120 youngsters from across Africa and South East Asia.
He told them: “The Earthshot Prize believes in you and the reason we set the prize up is for moments like this”.
The prince added: “All of you in this room are future change makers, you’re the leaders, you’re the people going to make the difference going forwards.”
This morning, Prince William visited Signal Hill in Cape Town, South Africa, as part of his efforts to highlight biodiversity conservation.
The Prince of Wales met with rangers, conservationists, and other experts to discuss the importance of protecting the unique ecosystem in Table Mountain National Park.
Signal Hill, overlooking the city, offers spectacular views of Table Mountain, the city skyline, and the Atlantic Ocean.
It is part of the Cape Floral Kingdom World Heritage Site, renowned for its exceptional biodiversity.
The Table Mountain National Park is a biodiversity hotspot, home to rare and endangered plant species.
