New Liam Payne music set for posthumous release as collaborator brands song a ‘blessing to the world’
Liam Payne is poised to return to the UK charts with new music two weeks after his death thanks to the posthumous release of a pre-recorded single.
US singer and songwriter Sam Pounds confirmed the release of three editions of the track Do No Wrong, a project the pair collaborated on before the One Direction star died.
The 31-year-old died earlier this month following a fall from a third-floor balcony at a hotel in the Argentinian capital of Buenos Aires.
Confirmed the release of new music from Payne, Pounds shared a link to pre-order the music on X.
He added on the social media platform: “I pray that this will be a blessing to the world like Liam has always dreamed.
“I pray angels will comfort you all everyday while listening. I pray that this song will be a blessing to Ruth, Bear, and the entire family.
“I pray that this song eclipses the negative echoes. I pray supernatural positive healing power will embrace each and every one of you.
“Presave links here. With love… let’s all BE the blessing,” Pounds signed off.
The posthumous release of Payne’s new music prompted floods of emotional responses from fans of the singer.
Reacting to Pounds’ announcement, one fan replied: “I’m genuinely crying just thinking about hearing new music from him. Liam deserved more than he received in the end and we’re so honored you’re sharing this with us.”

A second echoed: “Thank you so much Sam. Really appreciate this. We love and miss him so much but having at least a song out that Liam was excited to release gives a little comfort.”
Elsewhere, a third concurred: Ameen. Thank you so much, Sam Pounds. We are eternally grateful for this, and I pray peace and blessings on you and yours.”
And a fourth weighed in: “This is going to be so special Sam. Thankyou so so much for doing this and giving Liam a chance to still be heard.
“It breaks my heart that he didn’t get the chance to show us more of his talent. He deserved every piece of love.” (sic)
News of the posthumous record comes days after an Argentinian journalist claimed there was “CCTV footage” of Payne’s fatal fall from a third-floor hotel balcony.
Authorities are reportedly keeping the CCTV footage secret as investigations continue into the tragic incident. Prosecutors believe Payne was in a state of “semi or total unconsciousness” during a substance-induced “psychotic episode” when he fell.

A toxicology report revealed traces of cocaine in Payne’s body. However, tests on white powder found in his hotel suite have so far proved “inconclusive”.
The report also suggests Payne “did not adopt a reflexive posture to protect himself” during the fall, indicating he may have been in a state of semi or total unconsciousness.
The singer died of multiple trauma injuries causing “internal and external haemorrhaging”. His body reportedly sustained 25 “life-threatening” injuries, including a skull fracture.
Payne had previously been open about his struggles with alcohol and addiction, following his meteoric rise to stardom as a teenager following a stint on ITV talent show, X Factor.
