‘Trump derangement syndrome!’ Clinton slammed for comparing Trump event to Nazi rally after Harris’ ‘fascist’ jibe

Hillary Clinton has been accused of suffering from “Trump derangement syndrome” after comparing her 2016 rival’s campaign event to a Nazi rally.

Clinton, who lost out eight years ago to Donald Trump by 77 electoral college votes, made the scathing remarks ahead of the Republican hopeful’s rally at New York’s illustrious Madison Square Garden arena.

MSG, as it is known, had been used to hold a Nazi rally just six months before the outbreak of World War II by the pro-Hitler German American Bund.

Making the puzzling comparison, Clinton told CNN last night: “One other thing that you’ll see next week… is Trump actually re-enacting the Madison Square Garden rally in 1939. I write about this in my book!”

The ex-Secretary of State, who celebrates her 77th birthday on Saturday, warned viewers: “I don’t think we can ignore it.”

Clinton said: “President Franklin Roosevelt was appalled that neo-Nazis – fascists – in America were lining up to essentially pledge their support for the kind of government that they were seeing in Germany… So I don’t think we can ignore it.

“Now, it may be a leap for some people and a lot of others may think: ‘I don’t want to go there. I don’t want to say that,’ but please open your eyes to the danger that this man poses to our country, because I think it is clear and present for anybody paying attention!”

When asked if she agreed with former White House chief of staff John Kelly’s claim that Trump is a “fascist”, Clinton said: “The term fits.”

Kelly – Trump’s own former chief of staff – said his ex-boss told him that “Hitler did some good things”, The New York Times reported.

He then was slated as a “fired former disgruntled employee who will say anything to say relevant” by a key Trump ally, speaking to GB News.

But the 2016 loser’s comments have been met with fury from the Trump campaign – who face a nerve-wracking race to the finish line as November 5’s election day creeps closer.

Team Trump has branded the comparison between his supporters and Nazis “disgusting”, later poking fun at her failed White House bid.

“Hillary Clinton is so messed up from her raging eight-year-long case of anti-Trump derangement syndrome that she forgot SHE did an event at Madison Square Garden when she was a senator, and her husband Bill accepted the Democrat nomination there,” Karoline Leavitt, the Trump campaign’s national press secretary, told The New York Post.

“Putting aside her hypocrisy, Hillary’s rhetoric about half of the country is disgusting,” she added.

Leavitt was referencing Clinton’s claims that Trump supporters were a “basket of deplorables” in the latter stages of her 2016 campaign – the reaction to which was considered a nail in her presidential coffin, at the time.

However, Clinton’s comments came after 2024 Democratic hopeful Kamala Harris was accused of being desperate for also labelling Trump a “fascist”.
