Next James Bond: Daniel Craig replacement race takes fresh twist as new data rules Aaron Taylor-Johnson out
Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s chances of bagging the role of James Bond and taking over from Daniel Craig may not be as certain as some think.
Earlier this year, reports claimed Taylor-Johnson had already been offered the part by Barbara Broccoli and co – although Eon Productions poured cold water on the rumours soon after.
Almost five years after Daniel Craig announced his decision to leave Bond’s tuxedos behind him, there’s still no official word about his successor.
Taylor-Johnson remains a favourite for the role with bookmakers but according to new data put together with the help of AI, it may not be a clear-cut decision.
Throughout the wait for Craig’s replacement to be announced, several other big names have been thrown into the conversation including James Norton, Damson Idris, Rege-Jean Page, Henry Cavill, Theo James and many more.
Thanks to AI research, it’s Idris who’s emerged as the most likely candidate to bring 007 to life next.
The actor is best known for his role in the series Snowfall but his CV also boasts credits in the likes of Black Mirror, Swarm, Outside the Wire and The Twilight Zone.
After combining the likes of ChatGPT, Gemini and Bing AI, a prediction from Coin Poker has now pinpointed Idris as the most likely actor to play Bond.
Neil Roarty, Content Lead at Coin Poker, commented on AI’s prediction and the new data, saying: “It comes as no surprise at all to see AI predict that Damson Idris will be the next James Bond.
“Idris is a renowned British actor who fits the Bond bill perfectly, hence why he has been picked as the next 007.
“Idris has of course played big roles during his acting career too which will definitely have helped his cause when it came to getting the Bond role.
“The 32-year-old is best known for playing a leading role in John Singleton’s crime drama Snowfall, as well as being the co-load in Netflix’s 2021 sci-fi action movie Outside The Wire.”
Roarty went on: “Idris has also featured in Netflix hit series Black Mirror and is no stranger to playing a leading role in some of the biggest films and series in the UK, hence why the role of James Bond suits him to a tee going forward.”
It’s unlikely frontrunner Taylor Johnson’s odds will be altered by the data, however, as he remains a popular punt.
The Kick-Ass star has addressed the rumours before, telling Numero magazine previously that he found it “charming and wonderful that people see me in that role”.
He also described the speculation as “a great compliment”.
