Tinubu Seeks Senate Nod for Six NMDPRA Executive Directors
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has nominated six Executive Directors for the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) and transmitted their names to the Senate for confirmation.
This was disclosed in a State House press release issued on Friday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
The list comprises three returning directors and three new appointees, who will each serve a five-year term upon confirmation.
The returning Executive Directors are Mr Abiodun Adeniji, Finance and Accounts; Mr Ogbugo Kalu Ukoha, Distribution Systems, Storage and Retailing Infrastructure; and Dr Mustapha Lamorde, Health, Safety, Environment and Community.
The new nominees are Mr Mobolaji Tajudeen Musa, Hydrocarbon Processing Plants, Installations and Transportation Infrastructure; Ms Ogechukwu Modie, Economic Regulations and Strategic Planning; and Mr Said Abutalib, Corporate Services and Administration.
In his letter to the Senate, President Tinubu was quoted as urging the lawmakers to treat the nominations expeditiously, saying it was necessary “to ensure institutional continuity and strengthen the Authority’s oversight capacity.”
The President also approved the appointment of Mrs Jumoke Gafar as Secretary to the Board and Legal Adviser of the Authority, subject to completion of statutory processes under Section 46 of the Petroleum Industry Act.
The appointments follow the naming of Engr. Rabiu Abdullahi Umar as Chief Executive of the NMDPRA in April.
