C.W. Morgan, best known for playing Ghostface killer Billy Loomis’ dad in “Scream,” has died. He was 72.
The actor’s daughter Renata Macfie confirmed his passing on her Facebook page on Aug. 31 with an emotional tribute.
“I’m never going to have the right words for this post. Loosing [sic] you has left the biggest hole in my heart,” she wrote alongside a throwback picture of the two of them from her childhood.
“I miss you endlessly already. I will carry on our Mulholland drives and our Starbucks outings. I’m grateful and lucky to have had you as my daddy. My Guck. Rest easy bubby.”
Macfie concluded, “Life will never be the same without you and your poorly timed jokes that I inherited from you. Love you endlessly (no more fighting about that anymore I win).”
Los Angeles Medical Examiner records obtained by the Daily Mail say the actor, born Curtis Wade Morgan, died on Aug. 30 in Los Angeles County.

His cause of death remains unclear, but records indicate he died in the bathroom.
An LAPD spokesperson told TMZ that officers responded to a call for a death investigation and the death appears to have been from natural causes.
Morgan was best known for portraying Hank Loomis in the 1996 horror film “Scream.”
He played Billy Loomis’ father, a prominent lawyer and ex-husband of Nancy Loomis, played by Laurie Metcalf.
In the film, Hank had a secret affair with Sidney Prescott’s mother, Maureen Prescott, which ultimately broke up the Loomis family and caused Billy — the original Ghostface — to descend into a murderous rage.
Morgan returned to the iconic film franchise four years later in a flashback scene in 2000’s “Scream 3.”
The actor’s final role was as Coleman Spencer in an episode of “Nash Bridges,” which aired in 2000.
