Ayodhya is set to develop a unique theme park inspired by the Ramayan using recycled waste materials and scrap metal. The upcoming Lav-Kush Park, planned under the Kachre se Kala (Waste to Art) theme, will showcase iconic tales from the ancient epic through metal sculptures, artworks and interactive installations.
The project is being developed by the Ayodhya Municipal Corporation under the Uttar Pradesh Smart City Mission at an estimated cost of ₹17.72 crore, PTI reported. Officials said the park will be constructed near the Maushivala MRF Centre on the Raebareli highway, and work on the project is expected to begin soon.
Ramayan stories to be recreated through scrap art
According to municipal officials, the park’s central theme will revolve around Lav and Kush, the sons of Lord Ram and Sita, with several key moments from the Ramayan being brought to life through modern artistic displays. Under the Kachre Se Kala theme, the park will be developed entirely using waste and scrap material collected from across the city.
“These popular stories from the Ramayan will be presented through modern art, so that coming generations can connect with ancient history. Infrastructure, cleanliness and tourism facilities are already developing rapidly in Ayodhya, and the Lav-Kush Park will further strengthen this development,” Municipal Commissioner Jayendra Kumar told PTI.
Large sculptures made from scrap metal and discarded materials will depict scenes such as the Ashwamedh Yagna, the exile period, and other major episodes connected to Lord Ram, Sita, Lav and Kush.
Interactive installations, 3D structures, and sound-and-light shows are also planned as part of the visitor experience.
Educational activities planned for students
Special workshops and tours will be organised for school and college students at the park to spread awareness about environmental protection and waste management.
New tourist attraction for Ayodhya
Officials expect the Lav-Kush Park to emerge as a major tourist attraction alongside famous religious landmarks such as Ram Mandir, Hanuman Garhi and Kanak Bhawan. The park will include gardens, walking pathways, seating areas, lighting arrangements and security facilities for visitors.
Officials described the project as a unique combination of public art, culture and sustainable development. Experts associated with the initiative believe such theme parks not only attract tourists but also help strengthen the local economy.
