Sameer Rizvi produced a stunning knock of 90 off 51 balls to guide Delhi Capitals to a comfortable six-wicket victory over Mumbai Indians in their Indian Premier League clash on Saturday.
Mumbai Indians struggled to build momentum with the bat, finishing at 162 for six. Rohit Sharma top-scored with 35, while Suryakumar Yadav chipped in with a steady contribution.
Naman Dhir added 28, but the lack of substantial partnerships hurt the innings. Mukesh Kumar was the standout with the ball for Delhi, returning impressive figures of 2 for 26 and denting the top order early.
In response, Delhi Capitals had a shaky start, losing KL Rahul (1) and Nitish Rana (0) cheaply. However, Pathum Nissanka steadied the chase with a brisk 44, setting the platform for Rizvi to take over.
Rizvi then unleashed a match-winning innings, smashing seven sixes and seven fours in his 51-ball knock as Delhi chased down the target in 18.1 overs with ease.
