Playtech has made its official entry into the Connecticut online gambling market after the state Department of Consumer Protection granted it a license to operate. It is the sixth regulated Playtech launch in the US so far.
This newest launch in the US market enables Playtech to strengthen its multi-state partnerships with licensed operators. Following the recent opening in Delaware, the supplier is now providing its casino games portfolio to players in Connecticut which include a variety of exclusive and specially produced iGaming contents.
Jonathan Doubilet, Playtech USA general manager, said:
We are thrilled to expand our presence into a sixth US state. Connecticut is a well-established iGaming market with a vast player-base that we anticipate will engage strongly with our first-class offering. It’s a source of pride that our most valued partners continue to place trust in us to reach the high standards the US iGaming market demands.
Besides, such a decision is very much in line with the current market situation as the iGaming market in Connecticut is not only growing but also diversifying with the total amount of wagers in January here hitting $1.77 billion, a 10 percent jump year on year. The monthly gross gaming revenue from iGaming also rose by 19 percent to $64.6 million.
Given such numbers, Playtech’s first appearance in the state seems to be not a gamble but more of a well-thought-out move aimed at its overall US presence goals.
