Kim Kardashian sparks outrage with ‘insensitive’ and ‘cruel’ Kate Middleton post amid royal’s recovery
Kim Kardashian, a reality TV star famous for Keeping Up With the Kardashians, has sparked controversy by poking fun at the Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton.
Kate, who was reportedly spotted alongside Prince William by Windsor locals over the weekend, has spent the past few months out of the public eye as she continues her recovery from planned abdominal surgery.
The Princess of Wales hasn’t undertaken any public duties since undergoing the planned surgery in January and has been the subject of wild online conspiracies as to her whereabouts.
Speculation was only heightened after a Mother’s Day snap featuring the royal and her three children was released and was confirmed by Kensington Palace to have been edited by Kate herself.
Now, following in the footsteps of Alison Hammond who also poked fun at the royal on social media recently, US socialite Kardashian has decided to use her platform to capitalise on the speculation.
The 43-year-old took to Instagram where she shared a snap of herself by her car with a caption that has been deemed as in “bad taste” by several followers.
“On my way to go find Kate,” the reality TV star wrote.
It didn’t take long for several disgruntled fans to slam the post, with some even accusing Kardashian of hypocrisy for trolling a public figure.
“Nothing like a celebrity who allegedly hates rumors, spreading rumors,” one fan remarked.
“Why would you say that,” a second questioned before a third hit out: “Kim imagine being trolled and made fun of after you got robbed in Paris? Girl take this insensitive post down.”
A fourth outraged follower replied: “This is not even funny!! F***ing bad taste!!”
A fifth weighed in: “Really? Had to get on the Kate Middleton train. I knew there was a reason I stopped watching your show.”
“To mock a woman who has a medical problem is so low,” added a sixth.
While another added to the comments: “Not very kind. This ‘joke’ will likely seem cruel with hindsight.”
The platform on which Kardashian shared the royal jibe has itself been the centre of controversy after it issued a warning over the aforementioned Mother’s Day photo.
Royal commentator Kinsey Schofield spoke to GB News about Instagram’s measures and accused the platform of “bullying” Princess Kate.
