Prime Video viewers unlock thousands of exclusive films and TV show episodes, thanks to unlikely partnership
Prime Video viewers can now stream thousands of exclusive films, documentaries, and TV show episodes. It’s all thanks to an unlikely partnership with rival Apple, which has launched its streaming service as a Prime Video add-on.
Apple TV+ sets itself apart from the likes of Prime Video, Netflix, BBC iPlayer, ITVX, and other streamers by only offering its own exclusive shows and films.
Apple has resisted licensing agreements with other broadcasters, so you won’t find forgotten BBC or Channel 4 shows reappearing, or US syndication staples like Seinfeld, Friends, and The Big Bang Theory available to watch.

Stream everything available from Apple TV+, including Academy Award-winning films like CODA and Napoleon: Director’s Cut from Galdiator II director Ridley Scott, with your existing Prime Video app. Usually £8.99 a month, this streamer is also packed with exclusive shows like Ted Lasso, Bad Sisters, Silo, Slow Horses, The Morning Show, and Severance, which returns for its hotly-anticipated season series next month
Instead, it has solely focused on commissioning its own critically-acclaimed shows and films that cater to a diverse range of tastes.
With a focus on quality over quantity, the platform has quickly become known for its distinctive and award-winning content, giving viewers a compelling alternative to larger libraries from Netflix and Disney+.
Although, it does have a lot less to choose from, compared to similarly-priced competition.
Starting from December 5, Prime Video viewers can now access everything in the Apple TV+ library directly through their existing account. There’s no need to sign-up to a new account, create a password, or enter your payment details anywhere… with just a few clicks, you’ll be able to start streaming all of its shows wherever you watch Prime Video.
If you’re new to Apple TV+, the Netflix rival offers a 7-day free trial for all new subscribers.
During that time, you can stream all of its shows across all compatible devices. Apple TV+ lets you download episodes to watch offline, when you’re on a train, aeroplane, or treadmill in the gym…. wherever you don’t have access to a mobile signal or Wi-Fi.
After that free trial, Apple TV+ costs £8.99 per month in the UK. Unlike Disney+ and Netflix, Apple doesn’t offer multiple tiers. Its one-size-fits-all approach means you’ll unlock all features — like 4K UHD, Dolby Atmos, offline viewing — with the standard subscription. There are no adverts with this service.
If you’ve recently purchased a new device from Apple, you’ll qualify for a three month free trial of Apple TV+.
For those not yet subscribed to Prime Video, a 30-day free trial of Prime Video is also available. The streamer is included as part of the Amazon Prime membership, which also offers next-day delivery across thousands of items, early access to Lightning Deals, free cloud backup for photos, and PC games for free.
Apple TV+ brings a robust lineup of acclaimed content to Prime Video, including Emmy Award-winning comedy Ted Lasso and critically-acclaimed series Slow Horses and Bad Sisters. Viewers can also access popular shows like Severance, Silo, The Morning Show, Presumed Innocent, and Hijack through the service.
Since its built-into Prime Video, you’ll be able to stream all of these shows from the same Prime Video app as you’re accustomed to using for Amazon-produced shows like Clarkson’s Farm, The Boys, Fallout, Lord of the Rings: The Rings Of Power, The Summer I Turned Pretty, The Grand Tour, and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, to name a few.
Sports fans will benefit from access to Major League Soccer and Major League Baseball coverage included in the Apple TV+ subscription. The hotly-anticipated second season of Severance, produced by Ben Stiller, is set to debut on January 17.
Among the platform’s notable achievements is CODA, which made history as an Oscar Best Picture winner — becoming the first film with a predominantly Deaf cast to win Best Picture, and the first Best Picture winner from any streaming service.
Vice President of International at Prime Video, Kelly Day said: “We’re delighted to continue to roll-out Apple TV+ on Prime Video with the launches in the U.K., Canada and Australia, bringing Prime Video customers an even greater selection of TV shows and films, all in one app experience.”
