Melania Trump reveals the ‘spontaneous’ act Donald would do in the early days of their relationship
Melania Trump has written about the “spontaneous” act her husband would do when they first got together.
In her new memoir “Melania,” she recounted the first time she met her future husband, two years into her life in America, while he was on a date.
She wrote: “I saw my friend wave at someone. When I turned around I noticed a man and an attractive blonde woman approaching us.
“‘I’m Donald Trump,’ he said. I recognised the name, and I knew he was a businessman or a celebrity, but not much else. He put his hand out to shake mine.”
“‘Hello,’ I replied. ‘I’m Melania’.”
“His eyes filled with curiosity and interest, and seizing the opportunity, he took the seat next to mine and started a conversation.”
Their first conversation led to a series of dates, which Melania said were discreet. She wrote she wanted to take things “one step at a time”, but also revealed that Donald was a romantic in private.
“Whenever he had music playing at home, he’d crank up the volume and pull me into a spontaneous dance,” Melania wrote in her memoir.

However, Melania also wrote about the struggles she faced at the beginning, such as being labelled a gold-digger due to their 24 year age gap and confessed to feeling annoyed by media attention.
Echoing the sentiments expressed in her memoir, during her husband’s campaign Melania largely kept out of the public eye and refrained from appearances.
She was noticeably absent from many of his rallies, including when he was the target of an assassination attempt in Pennsylvania in July.
Donald Trump addressed inquiries in September regarding his wife’s whereabouts stating: “She’s a private person, a great person, a very confident person, and she loves our country very much.
“She is going to be there when the time is right.”
However, sources told CNN Melania is unlikely to move to Washington DC full-time this time around, showing her insistence on doing things her way.
In an interview with Fox news she said: “I’m not anxious because this time is different. I have much more experience and much more knowledge.
“I was in the White House before. When you go in, you know exactly what to expect.”
