Jeremy Clarkson, 64, rips apart ‘jobless’ lefties as he wades in on ‘hysteric’ Elon Musk attacks despite pair’s feud

Jeremy Clarkson has delivered his verdict on the violent scenes that have erupted on both sides of the pond aimed at Elon Musk.

In doing so, the Clarkson’s Farm star aimed much of his ire towards the left and their “hysterical” reactions to Musk’s actions within President Donald Trump’s government.

Clarkson’s dig at liberal voters arose in his latest column in the Sunday Times in which he discussed directly the violent targeting of Elon Musk’s Tesla showrooms and stores.

Tesla creator Musk has branded incidents of violence at his car brand’s showroom as “terrorism” stoked by the “woke mind virus”, while his opponents claim it’s in response to his role in President Donald Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:

Clarkson and Musk are no strangers to one another, with the latter suing the motoring presenter’s previous show Top Gear due to an unfavourable review Clarkson himself delivered.

In his column, Clarkson first remarked that the targeting of Teslas and backlash to Musk was his own version of “payback” for the X owner’s attack on Top Gear, adding it was all the sweeter due to the fact it’s spearheaded “by the very people who put him on the pedestal in the first place”.

“The eco hippies. The net-zero disciples of Ed Miliband and Al Gore. They loved his idea of electrical cars running on nothing but wind and sunshine,” Clarkson quipped.

Turning the conversation towards the broader subject of Musk being cancelled in the eyes of the left, the Clarkson’s Farm star continued: “In the recent past, it used to be health scares that killed off a product. But now it’s almost always a political issue that gets you cancelled…”

Clarkson joked that vegetarianism could be blacklisted societally due to the fact Adolf Hitler used to adhere to the dietary lifestyle.

He went on to say it would be “hilarious” to watch the fallout of such a point because of the “hysteria these days among those of a left-leaning disposition”.

Clarkson wasn’t only critical of the left using political issues to target a person or brand, however, as he cited the right’s backlash towards Budweiser and their ties to Dylan Mulvaney as an example to back up his claim.

However, he did caveat that the left “are by far the most rampant and proactive”, adding: “Mainly because so few of them have jobs to distract them from whatever prevailing political wind blew through their tent flap that morning.”

In the end, Clarkson surmised that violently attacking Tesla for a difference in opinion with its founder was “unfair” and dangerous towards the company’s workforce and its customers.

However, he couldn’t resist a “told you so” moment when he signed off, reminding Tesla owners he warned them against ever purchasing the electric vehicles.

The news cycle has been dominated by the acts of vandalism taking place at Tesla stores of late, although Musk couldn’t quite believe the reaction the crowd of a US comedy show displayed last week in response to the attacks.

On The Daily Show, comedian Jordan Klepper delivered a monologue about the attacks and included footage of news reports covering the incidents.

What followed was The Daily Show audience cheering and applauding over the footage, something that even took the liberal Klepper by surprise.

Visibly shocked, Klepper said to the crowd: “Wow! You guys like petty acts of domestic terrorism, huh? Wow!”

Footage of the comedy show has gone viral on social media since, catching the eye of Musk himself.

The X owner branded it “super messed up” to see a show audience celebrate the violent acts in such a way.

Meanwhile, Clarkson has been hard at work on his Oxfordshire farm ahead of the release of the fourth season of Clarkson’s Farm.
