‘All fine now!’ Musk reconciles Farage fall out after Reform’s Brexit nemesis spearheads Tesla chief’s broadside attacks
Elon Musk and Nigel Farage’s relationship is on the mend after a fleeting fallout between the two personalities over several of Elon Musk’s incendiary social media posts.
The tech billionaire clashed with Reform’s leader after Musk claimed that the ex-leader of the English Defence League Tommy Robinson should be freed.
However, Farage refused to support the former EDL leader, who has been serving an 18-month-long jail sentence for contempt of court for repetition of a false claim regarding a Syrian refugee.
Musk subsequently demanded that Nigel Farage should step down as the populist party’s leader because he “didn’t have what it takes”, although the Clacton MP has since said that the free speech advocates were back on good terms.
“Musk felt a bit contrite. It’s all fine now,” sources close to Farage told The Mail on Sunday.
The reconciliation has followed speculation that Reform’s Brexit nemesis Dominic Cummings is in cahoots with the billionaire about a “plot to sabotage” Sir Keir Starmer.
Boris Johnson’s ex adviser is understood to be in contact with the billionaire via WhatsApp, offering guidance regarding US government spending just days ahead of Donald Trump’s inauguration.
Cummings has also fuelled Musk’s recent controversial social media posts, sources have told the Daily Mail, which call for another General Election in Britain, as well as the imprisonment of Starmer for his record on UK grooming gangs.

The former MEP revealed that he had “been in touch” with the X chief since the billionaire’s online outburst, adding that he “can’t be pushed or bullied or made to change by anybody”.
“Of course we’re friends. He just says what he thinks at any moment in time. Look, he said lots of supportive things. He said one thing that wasn’t supportive. I mean, that’s just the way it is,” he told Sky News.
Farage added: “What he was saying online was that effectively Tommy Robinson was a political prisoner, and I wouldn’t go along with that.
“If I had gone along with that, he wouldn’t have put out a tweet that was against me.”
Neither Robinson – who was jailed in October – nor his supporters would be welcome in Reform, according to the party leader.
“If people within Reform think Tommy Robinson should be a member of Reform and play a central role in Reform, that disagreement is absolutely fundamental,” he said.
“I’ve never wanted to work with people who were active in the BNP. I’ve made that clear right throughout the last decade of my on/off political career. So that’s what the point of difference is.”
Following Musk’s support for the far right activist, Robinson – whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon – released a podcast episode from inside HMP Belmarsh, saying: “Just think where we would be if it wasn’t for Elon Musk. Where would this country be?”
The prison’s authorities are conducting an investigation into how he could record a podcast within the walls of the jail.
