Macron in peril as Marine Le Pen’s party polls FAR AHEAD of French President’s in latest shock poll
Emmanuel Macron has been dealt a major blow as Marine Le Pen’s National Rally soars ahead in the latest EU Parliament poll of polls.
National Rally, which is led in Brussels by Le Pen’s protege Jordan Bardella, registered 30 per cent support, up seven-points compared to the last election.
Macron’s centrist coalition has seen its support tumble from 22 per cent to just 18 per cent.
The French President is facing a double-threat, with socialist Raphael Glucksmann increasing his support from just six per cent to 12 per cent.
National Rally has experienced a steady poll boost since May last year.
However, the Socialist Party’s climb only proper kickstarted a few months ago.
Bardella and Macron unveiled key pillars of their respective EU Parliament campaigns yesterday.
The 28-year-old National Rally MEP said: “The President has decided to intervene directly and personally in an electoral campaign.

He said: “We need to be lucid, and recognise that our Europe is mortal.
“It can die. It all depends on the choices we make, and those choices need to be made now.”
The French President added: “Europe must become capable of defending its interests, with its allies by our side whenever they are willing, and alone if necessary.”
Polls open across France on June 9 and voters will return 81 MEPs to the European Parliament.
