Finland: Parents pay tribute to school shooting victims in Vantaa
Parents in Vantaa have paid tribute to the victims of a shooting at Viertola school in Finland.
Finnish police have said the shooting, involving a 12-year-old pupil, was a result of bullying. Parents and fellow pupils laid tributes outside the school as they spoke of the “horrifying” incident.
One parent told Reuters: “It was about 24 hours ago when the first news came about this situation, and of course I was very horrified in the first minutes, especially when it came out that the shooter was only 12 years old, and all the victims were very young.
“Of course I feel very terrified, and thinking all the time how is this possible, and what possibly may have happened before that shooting. Of course my thoughts and prayers are now with all the victims and all the families.”
