Broadcaster and journalist Carole Malone has hit out at the French police, accusing them of inaction when it comes to stopping migrants from making the perilous journey across the Channel to reach British shores.<\/p>\n
It comes after more than 500 small boat migrants made the illegal crossing on Sunday in the biggest single day of arrivals so far this year.<\/p>\n

Speaking on GB News, Malone cynically claimed the busy day of crossings will do little to spur the powers that be into action.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think we are [being invaded], the numbers have gone up this year under [Keir] Starmer\u201d, she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s astonishing, this deal with the French. They don\u2019t want to stop people coming here and we\u2019re paying them this amount of money to do nothing.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe\u2019ve seen the coppers standing having a fag, having a chat on the beach while migrants are loading themselves into the boats.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey just need a knife to puncture the boats, then the boat can\u2019t go anywhere, but there is no will to do that.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis Government talks and talks and talks about stopping the boats. They tried to defend their immigration policy by saying their Border Security Commander is now working, they only appointed the guy two weeks ago and he lives in Finland.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m not entirely sure how that is going to work. He says he will work from here, but that\u2019s how seriously they\u2019re taking it.\u201d<\/p>\n
Labour commentator Suzy Stride sought to defend Keir Starmer\u2019s record so far on the matter, saying \u201cthis is a key issue and people need to humble themselves and get on with the job.<\/p>\n

Ex-Tory MP Jake Berry waded in to argue Keir Starmer is yet to implement any sort of plan to tackle illegal migration despite making promises to do so pre-election.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m not saying the Conservatives got it all right – but when we had all these deterrents in place it was starting to come down\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n
