Jason Kelce reveals ’embarrassing’ regret to brother Travis in candid conversation about Mike Tyson
Philadelphia Eagles legend Jason Kelce has admitted feeling “embarrassed” about watching last Friday’s boxing match between Mike Tyson and Jake Paul in Arlington, Texas.
The revelation came during the latest episode of the New Heights podcast, which Kelce hosts with his brother Travis.
The former NFL centre confessed he ‘should have known better’ than to tune in to the highly anticipated bout, which saw 58-year-old Tyson face off against the 27-year-old YouTuber-turned-boxer.
The fight proved to be a difficult spectacle for boxing fans, as Tyson showed clear signs of his age in the ring.
The former undisputed heavyweight champion struggled to find his rhythm, staggering around the ring throughout the contest.
Paul cruised to a routine points victory, with Tyson unable to close the distance against his younger opponent.
The lacklustre performance at AT&T Stadium left many fans disappointed, with some even suggesting the bout was ‘rigged’.
During the podcast, the Kelce brothers discussed a pre-fight Netflix interview featuring Tyson, which included an unexpected shot of the boxing legend’s bare bottom.
Travis stated: ‘My s*** got froze literally on Mike Tyson’s cheeks.
“I immediately sent that to f****ng everyone. That was the funniest s*** ever.”
Jason candidly replied: “I was not watching at this point, (but) I’m kind of embarrassed that I watched this to begin with. I should have known better but I couldn’t help myself.
“I will say though, the moment I saw that clip on social media… I didn’t think Mike was gonna win before, but I knew when I saw those cheeks he wasn’t going to win.
“You lose your glutes you lose your game. He’s got an old-man a** in that photo.”
Despite his criticism of the fight, Kelce maintained his respect for the boxing legend.
“He could still whoop my a**, but to face a legitimate person that trains in boxing is a whole other thing,” the former Eagles star added.
His admiration for Tyson was evident as he explained: “I just love Mike Tyson so much I couldn’t help but watch it. But I knew what I was going into before it even happened, and I still couldn’t help myself.”
The discussion concluded with the brothers addressing Paul’s restraint during the fight.

“Shout out to Jake Paul for not knocking out Mike,” Jason noted, after Paul revealed he had held back against the boxing icon.
Travis observed: “The Mike Tyson that we know, if he was in Jake Paul’s position he would have f***ing KO’d that guy into a coma.”
Jason delivered the final verdict on the contrast between the fighters, stating: “Well that’s why Jake Paul’s not Mike Tyson.”
