Two women dead and two others seriously injured in Christmas Day stabbing

A man has been arrested on suspicion of double murder after two women were fatally stabbed at a block of apartments in Bletchley on Christmas Day.

The victims, aged 38 and 24, were killed in the incident at Santa Cruz Avenue, with Thames Valley Police confirming a 49-year-old man from Milton Keynes has been arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder.

Officers were called to the scene at around 6.30pm on Christmas Day.

Both women were pronounced dead at the scene of the incident.

Forensic teams were spotted near the address, with police cordoning off what was described as a usually quiet street.

A teenage boy and a man in his late twenties were also seriously injured during the incident and were taken to hospital.

Both injured victims are now in a stable condition.

A dog was also wounded in the attack and was taken to a veterinary practice, but did not survive.

Senior investigating officer Detective Chief Inspector Stuart Brangwin said: “Firstly I would like to extend my deepest condolences to the families of the women who have tragically died in this shocking incident.”

“We have launched a double murder investigation, which may be concerning to the wider public; however, we have made an arrest and are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident and the parties are known to each other.”

Members of the public will see a large police presence in the area while the investigation continues.
