SNAP POLL: Andrew Pierce vs Bev Turner – who do you think won Ukraine debate? ‘He wouldn’t speak to Putin like that’

GB News presenters Bev Turner and Andrew Pierce clashed on Ukraine this morning as they discussed the confrontation between Trump and Zelensky in the Oval Office.

The pair offered starkly different interpretations of the extraordinary meeting in the White House that saw Trump accuse Zelensky of being “disrespectful” and “gambling with World War Three”.

Speaking on GB News, Andrew Pierce said: “I’ve never seen anything like that in 40 years of journalism.

“I mean, I’m sure it goes on behind the scenes, but it’s not normally conducted in this way. And I did feel that he sent in the Vice President as his bully boy to rough him up.”

However, Bev Turner argued: “That was the end of 50 minutes of debate. I like the fact that they’re doing it in public rather than behind closed doors because I think it shows transparency from the Trump administration. They are not hiding anything.

“They said they were going to run on a ticket of being more open and honest with the American public, and they’re certainly doing that. Zelensky sat there as if he were in his PE kit in the headmaster’s office, getting a telling off.”

As the debate between the presenters later intensified, Bev later added: “Donald Trump said, ‘I am on neither side because I can’t be on his side if I have to broker this deal.’

“Yeah, and that is absolutely correct. If you are mediating some sort of situation, you have to be as objective as possible. And he knows that Putin’s watching.”

Andrew fumed in response: “He did say initially when they were in Saudi Arabia, ‘No, no, Ukraine is not involved in the talks’.”

Bev said: “Come on. Ukraine has to be involved in the talks. It’s there. But he had him there in the room. He’s clearly involving him in the talks. He said he hasn’t sat in that room with Putin.”

Andrew fumed: “I don’t think he would speak to Putin like that.” To which Bev furiously said: “Who cares?”

Andrew explained: “Because Putin invaded, and his troops are still there” to which his co-host explained: “It’s not that simple.”

Andrew retorted: “It is to Zelensky.”

Bev responded: “Then he better get used to buckling up. Then he better get used to dragging more young men off the street to go fight the war that none of them wants to fight.”

The White House meeting descended into chaos when Trump branded Zelensky “disrespectful” during their 50-minute clash.

The Ukrainian leader left early and Trump issued a blistering update on Truth Social, saying Zelensky should come back when he is ‘ready for peace’.

The clash provoked widespread outpouring of support from European nations who are rallying behind Ukraine as America’s protective military aid looks set to end.
