‘Send your son first!’ Bev Turner tears into Keir Starmer over plan to deploy British troops in Ukraine

GB News stars Andrew Pierce and Bev Turner have slammed Keir Starmer’s plan to deploy British troops to Ukraine as part of a peacekeeping force.

Andrew told GB News: “Keir Starmer wants to put 10,000 peacekeeping troops in Ukraine. We can’t even protect the Kent coast. It’s a joke.”

“He says they will be neutral. No they won’t be. They are there to protect Ukraine, they are taking a side,” Pierce added.

“It’s just reckless. It’s a terrible political mistake.”

Bev Turner delivered a pointed challenge: “Keir Starmer, send your son out first. I want to see you kissing him off at the airport and waving him goodbye.”

The UK government has announced that more than 30 countries are expected to join a “coalition of the willing” to support Ukraine with peacekeeping troops.

A spokesperson for Prime Minister Keir Starmer confirmed the development on Monday.

“The coalition of the willing, we expect more than 30 countries to be involved,” the spokesman said.

This comes as part of efforts to establish a peacekeeping force in Ukraine in the event of a peace deal with Russia.

The Prime Minister’s office described it as a “significant force” with numerous countries committing to provide troops.

The spokesperson for the Prime Minister elaborated on the nature of the coalition’s contributions.

“The contribution capabilities will vary, but this will be a significant force, with a significant number of countries providing troops,” they told reporters.

Not all countries will be sending troops, according to Downing Street.

“It involves more than sending troops, and will involve contributing in other ways,” the spokesman explained.

When questioned about whether British troops fired upon by Russia would be permitted to return fire, the spokesperson responded: “It’s worth remembering that Russia didn’t ask Ukraine when it deployed troops.”

On Saturday, leaders from 26 Western countries gathered for a virtual call hosted by Sir Keir Starmer.

The meeting also included two EU leaders and NATO’s secretary general.

This followed Ukraine’s president accepting a 30-day interim ceasefire agreement.

Military chiefs are scheduled to meet on Thursday to discuss the next “operational phase” of protecting Ukraine.

This meeting will focus on implementing the peacekeeping force if a peace deal can be reached with Russia.

The UK and France have already confirmed they will be part of this peacekeeping force.

However, Downing Street has not revealed which additional countries have joined the coalition since Saturday’s virtual meeting.
