An eight-year-old girl and a man have been seriously injured in a shooting in Kensington, one of Britain’s richest neighbourhoods, on Sunday.
Both were taken to hospital and the schoolgirl is now in a stable condition. A 32-year-old woman was also taken to hospital as a precaution.
Police are now appealing for help and information from members of the public.
Superintendent Owen Renowden, in charge of policing for Kensington and Chelsea, said: “This is an appalling incident that has left two people seriously injured, including a young girl who thankfully is in a stable condition this morning.
“I am appealing to the public who may have been in the area at the time of the shooting.”
She continued: “We await an update on the condition of the man. We also await an update on the girl, but she does not have life-threatening injuries.”

“If you saw anything, or have any information then please contact police on 101 stating CAD5238/24NOV or call independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 to remain anonymous,” Renowden said.
