Sainsbury’s rolls out new healthy range in stores across the UK with prices from 90p – full list
Sainsbury’s has unveiled a new functional health range alongside a pioneering Healthy Choice Icon system, responding to growing customer demand for nutritious options.
The supermarket’s latest initiative comes as research shows 77 per cent of Sainsbury’s customers want to maintain a healthier diet, with time constraints and lack of inspiration cited as key barriers.
The comprehensive launch includes innovative raw cold-pressed juices, kefir drinks, and protein yogurts, designed to make healthier eating more accessible.
The new range will be complemented by the introduction of the Healthy Choice Icon, set to appear on more than 1,300 products across stores and online. The new range features four raw pressed juices and two juice shots, marking a first for supermarket own-brand products by using watermelon juice instead of traditional apple juice.
The watermelon-based drinks contain up to 45 per cent less sugar than standard juices available on the market.
Unlike conventional juices, Sainsbury’s new range undergoes cold pressing and high-pressure processing rather than heat pasteurisation, helping retain more nutrients and deliver a fresher taste.
Customers can choose from Collagen, Immunity, Daily Greens and Digest varieties in the juice range, alongside specially formulated immunity and collagen shots.
The drinks are available in both individual servings and larger dosing sizes. Sainsbury’s is also launching a new range of kefir products from January 22.
The lineup includes a Plain Kefir Drink and a Strawberry Kefir Drink, with plain and raspberry kefir yoghurts set to follow later in the year.
Each kefir product contains over five billion live cultures from 14 different strains and is high in calcium, supporting normal digestive function.
The supermarket is also introducing three new Protein Fat-Free Yoghurts in Cherry & Vanilla, Mango & Passionfruit and Strawberry flavours. These protein yoghurts contain 15g of natural protein and are naturally sweetened with real fruit, using fewer ingredients than comparable products.
The new Healthy Choice Icon will be rolled out across Sainsbury’s stores and online platforms from January, eventually featuring on over 1,300 products.
The icon will help shoppers quickly identify items with specific nutritional benefits, including those higher in fibre or protein, sources of Omega 3 or calcium, and products counting towards five-a-day targets.
