Prince Harry blasted by Lizzie Cundy for ‘insensitive’ Netflix plans as Kate and Charles battle cancer
Commentator Lizzie Cundy has hit out at Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for their “insensitive” decision to delve into fresh Netflix projects, despite the Royal Family’s cancer concerns.
King Charles and Princess Kate both announced earlier this year that they have been diagnosed with cancer, and are both receiving treatment in private.
However, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are continuing to revel in their American success, as it was announced that the couple will produce two new projects for streaming giants Netflix.
Meghan Markle will create a lifestyle and cooking series, whilst Prince Harry reveals the behind-the-scenes world of professional polo.
Reacting to the announcement, Lizzie Cundy criticised the Duke and Duchess for “not being relatable” at a time where the Royal Family is facing a double health crisis.
Speaking to host Nana Akua on GBN America, Cundy said Meghan Markle is “trying to relaunch herself as a Gwyneth Paltrow type”, and is “not reading the room” in regards to the King and Princess of Wales.
Discussing the Netflix projects, Cundy fumed: “They’ve got these new Netflix shows about making jam and cookery and gardening, and there Harry’s about polo playing, it’s not really relatable.
“I think it’s pretty insensitive when Catherine’s going through what she’s going through and the King is going through his cancer issues too, it’s really insensitive, to be honest.”
Nana was in agreement with Cundy, and said she finds it “fascinating” that Harry and Meghan “don’t realise how ridiculous they’re coming across”.
Nana added: “I do find it quite astonishing that they think that people won’t look on this and think how ridiculous they are.

“It feels to me that they should realise how ridiculous they’re coming across, how heartless and insensitive they look, but they don’t appear to realise any of that.”
Cundy responded: “They never read the room do they? They’re so into themselves they can’t see the wood for the trees.
“We’ve heard Meghan going on about the trolling and all the horrible comments and you just think, look at what you’ve actually done to poor Kate.”
Nana turned the discussion to Meghan Markle’s other latest project, American Riviera Orchard, which saw the Duchess release 50 jams to American influencers and her friends.
Cundy said people are “sick to death of her across the pond” and the launch of her jams is “fake and phoney”.
Cundy blasted the brand, telling GBN America: “I don’t think anyone will be interested at all. It’s fake. It’s phoney. It’s cheesy.
“I think people are really seeing her for what she is. I think she should come out and actually apologise for what she’s done to poor Kate, and maybe not be so insensitive.”
