Prince Harry and Meghan Markle urged to ‘step on the gas’ as Netflix ‘want more bang for their buck’
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have to “step on the gas” if they are to satisfy Netflix bosses, according to royal commentator Caroline Aston.
The couple have a lucrative deal with the streaming giant, which they signed in 2020.
Despite signing their deal as a couple, the pair are working on separate projects.
But according to Aston, Harry’s own project is a cause for concern as bosses were expecting the duke to feature more prominently.
She told GB News: “I’m sure Netflix was hoping for lots of footage of a sweat glazed Prince Harry pounding around the polo field, mallet in hand.
“But it turns out to have far more footage of his great friend Nacho Figueras. A very handsome 47-year-old Argentinian polo player who speaks English in a wonderfully sexy, romantic, broken accent.

“I think behind the scenes, they’re calling it ‘The Nacho Show’. Netflix, I think, want more bang for their buck.
“Don’t forget that £80 million contract is up for renegotiation next year. If there is some new branding going on, they better step on the gas.”
A source told the Mail Harry is not set to feature prominently in the series.
They said: “Any reasonable person tuning into a show about polo made by Prince Harry would expect Harry to take a starring role.
“That he’s not is hugely disappointing for Netflix. Let’s face it, polo isn’t exactly a mainstream sport so the attraction would have been watching Harry. Without him, it’s marginal at best.
“The Netflix deal expires next year, so the Sussexes need a big hit. This sounds like a big nothing burger.”
Another insider said: “For a show about a sport of kings, polo barely features any royalty. It’s not the Harry show, it’s the Nacho show.”
While a third source is quoted as saying: “Nice of Harry to do his mate a favour.”
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s contract with Netflix expires in 2025.
The couple reportedly face a fight to stay on the streaming giant’s books with the couple under pressure to produce another successful project like their debut series Harry & Meghan.
Losing that flow of income will be another blow for the couple after their Spotify deal was terminated in 2023.
