Police make ‘very alarming’ discovery in case of woman, 27, missing for nine days
A missing woman’s dog has been discovered wandering alone nine days after its owner disappeared while on a walk.
Christina Johnson vanished in Houston, Texas while out with her 10-year-old cross-breed dog named Max on March 6.
Police were informed by her father, Emmanuel Johnson after she failed to return home.
On Friday, a “very alarming” discovery was made when Max was spotted walking in a storm seven miles away from the family home.
The woman who found Max, Callie Clemens shared a photo of him on Facebook, writing: “Max was found tonight 7.5 miles away. Emmanuel came by and got him!”
Clemens added that the dog was very wet from the storm.
Christina’s dad said the discovery of the dog without his daughter is “very alarming” as she “always has Max with her”.
“Something ain’t right. Obviously, she’s in danger,” he told KHOU.

Christina had recently graduated from West Virginia and moved back to her father’s home.
Her family said she had a routine where she would take Max and take her laptop to nearby shops.

He added: “I don’t understand where she is. She usually comes home before the evening but didn’t come back that evening.”
The 27-year-old had left home without her mobile phone and had been going through a “little depressive state”, according to her dad.
He has issued another plea for his missing daughter to come home.
Emmanuel said: “Come home. Your father and your mother miss you. Your brothers miss you. They’re down here from out of town. We all just want to make sure you’re safe.”
