Paedophile jailed after kidnapping and sexually assaulting 11-year-old girl walking home from school
A man who kidnapped and sexually assaulted an 11-year-old girl in Harrow has been jailed.
Adam Baillie, 39, must serve a minimum of 10 years behind bars after being found guilty at Harrow Crown Court yesterday.
The attack, which sent shockwaves through the local community, involved Baillie abducting the young girl as she walked home from primary school.
Baillie took the girl, who was not known to him, to his property on Spring Way in Harrow.
At the address, he subjected her to a serious sexual assault.
Later, the young victim managed to escape from Baillie’s property and was assisted by neighbours.
Local residents immediately alerted the police once they had helped the girl to safety.
At Harrow Crown Court, Baillie was found guilty of kidnap and sexual assault of the 11-year-old girl.

He was also convicted of actual bodily harm during the incident.
The court proceedings concluded with Baillie, of Spring Way, Harrow, receiving a life sentence.
PC Georgia Devaney-Brighton, who served as the Sexual Offences Investigative Techniques Officer in the case, said: “Today we achieved justice for this courageous girl and I hope the severity of the sentence can provide some comfort to her and her family.
“This was an appalling crime which sent shockwaves through the local community.”
She commended the young victim-survivor’s exceptional bravery throughout the process.
“This young victim-survivor has shown remarkable bravery throughout this process, her strength and willingness to work with us has been vital in securing this conviction,” she added.
“I want to thank her and her family for their trust in the police and for their resilience during such a distressing time.”
The Metropolitan Police urged anyone who has been a victim of sexual assault or rape to come forward.
Officers emphasised that specially trained personnel are available to listen and investigate where needed.
