Nigel Farage ally ‘sure’ Elon Musk will donate to Reform and help bring Tories ‘to their knees’
Elon Musk – the world’s richest man – will donate some money to Nigel Farage’s Reform UK party, one of the Clacton MP’s key allies has said.
Arron Banks said Reform had to “beat the hell out of the Conservative Party, bring them to their knees until they’re begging”.
Banks is close to Farage, having previously donated £1million to Farage’s UK Independence Party (Ukip) in 2014 and attended a Reform donors lunch this week.
Asked if Musk will donate, Banks told GB News’ Chopper’s Political Podcast: “I’m sure he will do but not to the extent of £100million, I don’t think. No.”
He added: “Dollars, pounds …. there’s still a lot of money but I suppose he’s got UK companies and that’s traditionally it’s acceptable to donate through that. Let’s see what happens.”
There is speculation that Musk could be about to donate after Farage appointed property billionaire Nick Candy as his party’s treasurer.
Banks added that Candy wants to attract more smaller donors.
He said: “One of the things that Nick Candy said was it mustn’t rely on mega-donors, we’ve got to get out there and build branches, which is happening very quickly now and energize real people.

“Overarching it all, we’ve got to beat the hell out of the Conservative Party, bring them to their knees until they’re begging.
“And that’s where we need to get them.”
Following his appointment to party treasurer, Candy immediately said he would donate a “seven-figure sum”, and said millions more had been pledged by other business people to Reform UK.
He told GB News: “There will be a chance to speak with Elon and if he would want to donate, of course, we’d love him to donate.
“If it can be done properly and legally and through the right mechanisms, then absolutely fine, but it’s not all about just one guy.”
Candy’s appointment led to Musk posting on his X social media platform. When Farage posted: “Reform UK is building a winning team to change British politics forever.”
Musk replied: “When is the first electoral opportunity?”
Farage said: “The first step is the English County Council elections on May 1, 2025. Britain needs Reform.”
