Nancy Pelosi rushed to hospital after ‘falling down stairs’ in front of horrified dignitaries

Former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi has “fallen down the stairs” during an “official engagement” in front of horrified dignitaries.

The 84-year-old has been taken to hospital in Luxembourg and has been forced to cancel the remainder of her appointments on the trip.

She had been travelling with the congressional delegation for the 80th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge – the last major German offensive during WWII.

Ian Krager, a spokesman for the former Speaker of the House, said: “Speaker Emerita Nancy Pelosi sustained an injury during an official engagement and was admitted to the hospital for evaluation.”

She is “currently receiving excellent treatment from doctors and medical professionals. She continues to work”.

He said she “regrets that she is unable to attend the remainder of the CODEL engagements to honor the courage of our servicemembers during one of the greatest acts of American heroism in our nation’s history,” adding that Pelosi “looks forward to returning home to the US soon”.
