M&S security guard left bleeding after trying to stop knife-wielding ‘shoplifter’

A security guard at a busy M&S was left bleeding after trying to stop a knife-wielding suspected shoplifter.

Emergency services attended the M&S food shop at North Wharf Road, Paddington Basin in central London.

Eyewitnesses reported a man running away from the scene with shouting being heard, while another added they had seen paramedics “rushing in” to the busy shop.

An eyewitness, Adam, told GB News: “We saw someone running away from the M&S and heard shouting but didn’t get a look at him.”

Another eyewitness told GB News that he saw a pair “scuffling” and a man running off with a knife. He added that he ran off but could not keep up with him.

A spokesman from the Met Police said: “Police were called at 12:22hrs on Friday, 28 February following reports of a man being stabbed inside a shop on North Wharf Road, W2. The victim has been taken to hospital and his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

“Officers remain in the area and no arrests have been made at this stage. A cordon is in place at the location. “

GB News has approached the London Ambulance Service for a comment.
