M&S announces major change to fruit packaging – entering stores over the next few weeks
Marks & Spencer has announced a significant change to its avocado packaging.
The retailer confirmed the eco-friendly switch is currently being rolled out across stores over the coming weeks.
This sustainable initiative will eliminate seven million units of plastic from M&S packaging.
The new cardboard packaging features attractive designs whilst maintaining the same quality avocados.
M&S’s Perfectly Ripe Hass Avocados are known for their creamy, rich, nutty flavour.
The premium avocados are sourced exclusively from M&S Select Farms that the retailer knows and trusts.
Customers have been reacting to the news of the new packaging and product.
One customer commented on social media: “Great. Your avocados are the best,” whilst another praised the environmental benefits of the new packaging and said: “I love this cardboard packaging it goes straight into my recycling now.”
Alongside the packaging change, M&S is promoting a viral avocado recipe on its website.
The recipe features hot honey and cottage cheese served on M&S Collection crafted sourdough toast.
Customers are encouraged to use the Perfectly Ripe Hass Avocados for optimal results in this trending dish.
One creative customer even suggested an alternative use. They said: “They make the best chocolate mouse.”
