Michael Knowles slams ‘liberal agenda’ of left trying to bring down democracy

The “liberal agenda” is digging away at democracy in a cynical attempt to bring it down, a political commentator has claimed.

The Daily Wire’s Michael Knowles joined Jacob Rees-Mogg on GB News America to discuss the political landscape in the US.

He reacted to the Colorado Supreme Court voting to remove Donald Trump from the state’s Republican primary ballot.

Blasting the decision, he claimed the court has “usurped” the power of the election.

“The Colorado Supreme Court has decided that Trump can’s be on the ballot”, he said.

“The court has usurped that power of the election, and that’s a great defence of democracy.

“There’s not much consistency other than the liberal agenda, and it’s attendant globalism, its attendant open borders, its attendant diminution of political sovereignty, especially for ordinary people, that agenda must win.

“Anything else necessarily for the left is illegitimate.”

The court ruled 4-3 that Trump was not an illegible candidate for the ballot, citing insurrection.

The justices wrote in their ruling: “We do not reach these conclusions lightly. We are mindful of the magnitude and weight of the questions now before us.

“We are likewise mindful of our solemn duty to apply the law, without fear or favor, and without being swayed by public reaction to the decisions that the law mandates we reach.”

Despite the decision, Knowles expects Trump to be the man to lead the Republicans into the election regardless.

He says it will be a “rematch” of the 2020 election, which was contested between him and Joe Biden.

“I suspect Biden is going to hold onto it [Democrat nomination]”, he said.

“He might not know which end is up. He might not know what his name is.

“That man has wanted to be president since he was in the womb, and I don’t see any reason that he would gleefully or willingly give that up now.

“We might have a rematch of 2020, and if we have a political system in which the rules are not radically changed in the weeks before the election, as we saw in 2020, if the polls have any connection to reality, then the Democrats are in rough shape.

“President Trump might return to the Oval Office.”
