Major car brands forced to recall almost 100,000 vehicles including serious ‘do not drive warning’
Drivers are being warned of new vehicle recalls which result in their cars needing to be repaired or updated, including a rare “do not drive” warning in the United States.
As the year comes to a close, some of the largest manufacturers in the world are ensuring drivers are aware of issues with their vehicles with necessary recall notices.
GB News has rounded up the most important car recalls of the past few weeks that drivers need to know about.

Ford
Ford is recalling certain 2023-2024 F-150 Lightning battery electric vehicles over fears a detached control arm can cause a loss of vehicle steering and control, increasing the risk of a crash.
According to documents from the United States National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), 11,922 vehicles are affected.
Dealers will inspect the upper control arm ball joint nut, and replace the nut and/or knuckle assembly, as necessary, free of charge.
Stellantis
The Michigan-based brand has issued three separate recall notices with the NHTSA in the last two weeks for various issues.
Almost 80,000 2024 Jeep Wagoneer, Grand Wagoneer, Grand Cherokee, and Grand Cherokee L vehicles are being recalled as the rearview camera image may not display properly.
There are fears this could increase the risk of a crash, with drivers set to be notified by January 21. Dealers will be able to update the rearview camera module software for free.
Chrysler, which is owned by Stellantis and known as FCA US, distributes Alfa Romeo, Fiat and Maserati vehicles in North America.
The second recall applies to certain 2019-2020 Alfa Romeo Giulia and Alfa Romeo Stelvio vehicles amid fears a brake pedal detachment can cause a loss of brake function and lead to crashes.
Just over 2,000 vehicles are part of the recall which will see dealers inspect, repair or replace the brake booster.
The third recall applies to just 53 RAM 1500 (2025 model year) pickup trucks. It states that inoperative headlights can reduce visibility when driving.

Mercedes-Benz
The German brand has issued a rare “do not drive warning” for its E350, E350 4MATIC, E 4504MATIC and E450 4MATIC All-Terrain vehicles from the 2025 model year.
The recall states that the camber strut bracket may have been improperly welded onto the rear axle carrier, possibly resulting in the separation of the bracket from the rear axle carrier and increasing the risk of a crash.
While this only applies to 17 vehicles, Mercedes said: “Owners are advised not to drive their vehicles until the remedy has been performed. Dealers will replace the rear axle carrier, free of charge.”
