Lewis Hamilton spills exciting details on Brad Pitt film with F1 star keen for bug to catch
Lewis Hamilton has opened up on the upcoming F1 film starring Brad Pitt, with the 38-year-old hoping it can spark more interest in the sport.
The Briton will act as a producer for the title, which is due to release in 2025.
Pitt, Damson Idris, Tobias Menzies and Javier Bardem are all due to star, with filming taking place at several Grand Prixs during the 2023 season.
And directors Thomas Kosinski and Jerry Bruckheimer are also involved, too.
Hamilton is excited about the film and what it can mean for the growth of F1.
And he thinks it’ll be particularly interesting to fans in America due to scenes shot in Vegas and Miami.
He said, per RacingNews365: “The movie is a huge step in that direction of broadening the horizon.
“I think that’s really part of the new leadership, with Liberty, with the great work that Stefano [Domenicali] and [Liberty Media CEO] Greg [Maffei] are doing in being open to trying new things.
“The fact that we’re allowed to do this movie, and have the concessions in terms of allowing an extra team being on track and filming with these film stars is… it’s never been done before.

“It’s great that we are embarking on things that we’ve never done before, and I think honestly, I really think they’re doing an amazing job.
“There [was] a huge spotlight on Vegas, which will play an important part of our movie also, which we’re really just working as hard as we can to make sure that it’s a true reflection of this legendary sport.
“Both the old and the new.
“Also with Miami, we’ve got these great cities here, with amazing fan bases in each of them, all providing a different atmosphere.
“I always felt that we needed more than one race [in the United States] because the complaint was always people having to get up at 4am or 5am or something, in the middle of the night to watch a Grand Prix.
“So, it’s really difficult to get into it.
“Then also, it’s only coming to the country once a year, so I think this is really enabling it to be something with a buzz that’s continuing.
“But we do have to continue to grow, and I think the movie particularly is going to help do that.
“It is the only truly international or global sport, and so we need to educate more and more people in it.
“There are still many people out there we’ve got to get to catch the bug, and there’s plenty of growing to do.”

Hamilton endured a mixed 2023.
He failed to win a single race for the second year in a row, with Max Verstappen dominating once again.
Hamilton was still able to finish third in the standings, however, behind only Verstappen and Sergio Perez.
The Stevenage-born racer is looking to improve next season.
Speaking at the start of the month, the veteran said he was looking forward to driving in a new car – insisting there are plenty of reasons to be optimistic.
“It’s always the exciting time of the year because I have seen the car in the wind tunnel,” he said at the FIA’s end of season awards gala.
“I always go by the wind tunnel when I go to the factory and to see it evolving in whichever direction it ends up going.
“As soon as I was leaving, again I popped in just to see where we were and when I come back it’ll be again a different animal.
“But I have full faith in everyone that’s working on it and hopeful that we’ll be in a much more competitive position next year.”
