Jake Paul privately messaged Gerwyn Price after darts star boxing fight admission – ‘Name a price’
Gerwyn Price has revealed that YouTube star Jake Paul has messaged him to “name a price” for a potential boxing match.
The darts star recently claimed he could knock out the American with just one punch.
Price, known as ‘The Iceman’, made the revelation as he returned to Cardiff this week for the Premier League Darts.
The 40-year-old Welshman had previously boasted about his ability to defeat Paul, who has built a successful boxing career since turning professional in 2020.
Speaking to talkSPORT recently, Price was confident about his chances against Paul.
“That’s easy, I look forward to that. He’s a YouTuber, he’s not a fighter, is he?” Price said. “I think it would just be one punch, and it would be all over. Out cold.”
The darts star was dismissive of Paul’s fighting credentials.
“It would be a waste of money for people to tune in. He’ll never beat me in Wales. Nobody beats me in Wales,” he added. “He’d probably beat Canelo but he’s not beating me, no.”
Paul has established himself in the boxing world since turning professional in 2020.
The former Disney Channel actor has won 11 of his 12 professional fights.

His most notable victory came against boxing legend Mike Tyson, who was 58 years old at the time of their bout.
Paul’s only defeat in the ring came against Tommy Fury, the former Love Island star.
Despite being 12 years younger than Price, Paul appears unfazed by the darts player’s confident claims.
Price has a background in rugby, having previously played for Neath, Cross Keys and Glasgow Warriors.
The Welshman is no stranger to combat sports, having trained for a charity boxing match in 2022 but ultimately withdrew from that event on medical advice.

The darts star recently launched his own YouTube channel called ‘The Iceman’, where he was asked about potentially facing Paul.
Following Paul’s bold claims, Price revealed the YouTuber had reached out directly.
“He’s seen it and messaged me,” the 40-year-old told talkSPORT.
“He wrote back to me and said: ‘Come to Greece, man. Just name a price’. I don’t know why he’s in Greece.”

When asked if he had responded to Paul’s challenge, Price joked about his reaction.
“I was a bit scared. No, I need to get some training in,” he admitted.
The exchange has sparked speculation about whether the unusual cross-sport contest might actually materialise.
