I’m A Celeb star Danny Jones reduced to tears during surprise visit: ‘Crying happy tears’

McFly star Danny Jones experienced an emotional reunion with his wife Georgia Horsley and six-year-old son Cooper during Friday’s I’m A Celebrity.

The 38-year-old singer broke down in tears as he dropped to his knees to embrace his young son during the surprise visit.

As both father and son sobbed together, Jones touchingly asked: “Are you crying happy tears as well?”

The musician described the unexpected appearance of his family as “the best surprise I’ve had in my life”.

The reunion was made even more special as it fell on Horsley’s birthday, allowing Jones to spend precious moments with his wife on her special day.

During the heartfelt meeting, Horsley turned to Cooper and said: “He’s doing a smashing job isn’t he, sweetheart? We’re very proud. We’ve been watching non-stop haven’t we?”

Holding Cooper in his arms, Jones reflected on his jungle experience: “Honestly this place is an amazing place, even though it’s been challenging. It just makes you realise how much you love people and you put stuff into perspective.”

The touching moment was made even more poignant when Cooper struggled to say goodbye, throwing his arms around his father and declaring: “I don’t wanna let go!”

Young Cooper also showed his playful side, quipping: “Luckily you haven’t been voted out yet!”

The visit was particularity important for Jones as fellow contestant, Barry McGuigan, had recently left the jungle. The pair had formed a close bond in their time Down Under.

Horsley later revealed the touching reason behind her husband’s close bond with McGuigan on ITV’s Lorraine.

Speaking to host Christine Lampard, Georgia explained that Danny has found a father figure in the 63-year-old former boxer.

“He gravitates to father figures, to older men, because he didn’t have that growing up,” Horsley shared during the Friday show.

The close relationship between Jones and McGuigan has already led to future plans for the pair to spend time together outside the jungle.

Horsley revealed on Lorraine that the former boxer has been invited to join the Jones family for their Christmas celebrations.

“Barry McGuigan is coming for Christmas apparently, so there’s that booked in,” she told Lampard.

LATEST DEVELOPMENTS:
