Ex-Labour adviser claims UK should go ‘gangbusters’ on green technology following Trump’s victory

Former Labour special adviser Paul Richards says the UK should go “gangbusters” on green technology following Trump’s victory at the US election.

The comments come as there has been speculation that Trump, who many a times in the past called climate change a “hoax,” may dump all mitigation actions which the US under Joe Biden took after rejoining the Paris accord in 2021.

Speaking about this to GB News, Richards said: “If Trump does decide to sort of take a back seat, you know, other countries are doing it and so should we. But we could be world leaders.

“Some of that tech is really exciting stuff. It could create all kinds of opportunities for our young people all over different bits of the UK that are currently in the doldrums.

“So I think we go gangbusters on the green tech.”
