Donald Trump secured victory after voters grew ‘fed up’ with celebrity endorsements: ‘They want a leader with a backbone!’

Donald Trump’s staunch election victory has been linked to voters becoming “fed up” with the vast amount of celebrity endorsements used by Kamala Harris’s campaign.

The Vice President was backed by many high-profile celebrities including Beyonce, Harrison Ford, the Obamas and Oprah Winfrey – but the Democrat hopeful was unsuccessful in her fight for the White House.

Trump cemented his landslide re-election in Arizona, after voting results confirmed that the Republican had stormed all seven swing states, taking his final electoral vote total to 312.

Speaking to GB News, reporter Kinsey Schofield claimed that American voters “want a leader that has a backbone”, as she analysed the outcome of the election.

Delivering her verdict on America’s new President, Schofield explained: “We have a new President, and it was wild.

“I was up all night long watching those numbers, and I couldn’t believe them.”

Referencing the pre-election day polls, which had the two candidates tied, Schofield criticised the mainstream media for “telling us that Kamala had it in the bag”, when in fact Trump executed a clean sweep of the swing states.

Schofield stated: “It was pretty unbelievable – the mainstream media had told us that Kamala had this in the bag.

“It makes you question the celebrity influence”.

Criticising Kamala Harris’s influx of celebrity endorsements throughout her election campaign, Schofield questioned whether the influence of Hollywood’s elite jeopardised her chances instead of help them.

Schofield told GB News: “It makes you question Oprah’s influence, Harrison Ford, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Christina Aguilera, Cardi B – all of the people that came out and told us who we needed to vote for.

“It makes you question their influence and it makes you realise that America is fed up, and they want to focus on the future.”

Analysing Trump’s campaign, Schofield suggested that the US voters “wanted someone with a backbone” rather than a candidate who relies heavily on the celebrity endorsement to win.

Schofield concluded: “They want to focus on gas prices, and they want to focus on faith, morals, and values.

“And I think that ultimately, they want a leader that has a backbone.”
