Donald Trump defends Kate on doctored photos as he sends message to Princess of Wales

Donald Trump has staunchly defended Princess Kate amid controversy sparked by a doctored image.

The ex-US President spoke to Nigel Farage on GB News about the first official image of the future Queen since her abdominal surgery in January.

Hours after posting the photo on social media, international photo agencies withdrew it from their news wires amid concerns it had been doctored.

Farage said: “Kate, who has obviously been ill and had major surgery, now a photograph that the press say was doctored.

“It’s pretty tough being in her position, isn’t it?”

“It shouldn’t be a big deal”, Trump responded.

“Everybody doctors. You look at these movie actors, then you see them in real life and you say, ‘is that the same person in the picture?’

“It was a very minor doctoring. It’s a rough period and they’re really going after her.”

Kate’s whereabouts since her abdominal surgery has been widely discussed with wild conspiracy theories emerging on social media.

This is despite the Royal Family confirming after her surgery that she would be absent from public duties until after Easter.

She was however been spotted smiling alongside her husband during a visit to a farm shop in Windsor.

In the video the princess can be seen with her hair down, wearing a black jacket and leggings, chatting with William and carrying a large white bag.

The Windsor Farm Shop is a short drive from their Adelaide Cottage home in the grounds of Windsor Castle.

The future Queen has been photographed in public twice since her operation.

In a picture published on March 4, she was a front-seat passenger in a car driven by her mother, Carole Middleton, in the Windsor area.

It was reported at the weekend that Kate may speak about her health during public engagements when she does eventually get back to doing them.

The Sunday Times reported a source as saying: “They are at their most open when out interacting with members of the public and I can see a world in which the princess might discuss her recovery out on engagements. If she was going to do it, that’s how she would do it.”
