British lawyer dies in ‘methanol-laced alcohol poisoning’ while 11 other tourists remain in hospital in Laos

A British woman has died from methanol poisoning whilst holidaying in Laos, whilst 11 other tourists remain in hospital.

Simone White, 28, from Orpington, Kent, fell ill last week after her drink was spiked with the drug.

The lawyer is the fifth tourist to have died whilst holidaying in backpacker town Vang Vieng.
